Senior Systems Test Software Engineer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Test Software Engineer to own and drive the testing strategy for the software stack that runs on every Saronic vessel. You will turn a substantial collection of test capabilities into a unified, easy‑to‑extend verification platform that ensures confidence when shipping code to autonomous maritime platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive test initiatives, including the HITL test catalog, station orchestrator, and NixOS‑based VM integration suite.
• Design a unified test strategy that combines Rust unit/property tests, VM‑based integration tests, HITL tests, and replay/simulation scenarios.
• Build property‑based and deterministic simulation testing across planners, trackers, schedulers, state machines, codecs, IPC framing, and certificate/identity stacks.
• Stand up fuzz‑testing infrastructure from scratch, identify high‑leverage surfaces, and triage findings.
• Expand HITL test coverage, improve station health, observability, and CI scheduler reliability.

Required profile

• Software engineer with a strong focus on test reliability for safety‑critical systems.
• Experience collaborating with autonomy, perception, controls, networking, and infrastructure teams.
• Ability to design and implement full‑system validation frameworks that run on real hardware and in simulation.
