Senior Strategy Consultant

About the role

Grant Thornton Stax is seeking a Senior Strategy Consultant to lead workstreams across client engagements in Chicago, Boston, or New York. You will translate client objectives into structured research plans, mentor junior team members, and deliver actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead workstreams from kickoff to final deliverable, owning workplan, analysis, and synthesis.
• Translate client objectives into research plans and defensible insights.
• Manage and mentor Associates, delegating tasks and ensuring quality.
• Structure client deliverables, develop storylines, and ensure narrative clarity.
• Present findings directly to clients, address questions, and drive alignment.
• Develop industry and functional expertise to become a subject‑matter expert.
• Contribute to business development and support junior team growth.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in strategy consulting, with a track record of leading commercial due diligence or strategy workstreams.
• Experience in corporate strategy, private equity, or venture capital is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree with academic excellence; MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong strategic thinking, quantitative analysis, and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
• High initiative, intellectual curiosity, and collaborative mindset.
• Experience managing small teams or leading defined modules within larger engagements.

Required skills

• Advanced PowerPoint proficiency.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
