Senior Director, Controller

About the role

Zevra Therapeutics seeks a Senior Director, Controller to lead its global accounting function. This senior finance leader will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP, DK GAAP and SEC regulations, and provide insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting activities, including general ledger, revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and consolidations.
• Oversee timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes and external reporting.
• Prepare internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP, DK GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Maintain and enhance internal control over financial reporting (ICOFR) for the general ledger.
• Provide financial analysis to support long‑range planning and strategic decisions.
• Coordinate annual external audit and manage auditor inquiries.
• Develop technical accounting guidance and implement new accounting standards.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing accounting team, fostering continuous learning.
• Identify and implement system and process improvements for efficiency and reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A, tax, treasury, legal and business units to align financial data.
• Support M&A due diligence and integration activities as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
