Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack

About the role

Markup AI is building the first AI‑driven content governance platform. We are looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to own product capabilities from data modeling to the final user interaction, primarily using TypeScript/React on the front end and Python on the back end.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end feature development, from discovery and design through rollout and iteration.
• Build responsive UI components with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and TanStack Query.
• Design and implement API endpoints, data models, queries, and database migrations.
• Extend and maintain Chrome extensions and document integrations for Google Docs, Word Online, and other authoring tools.
• Enhance the shared design system with a focus on accessibility, keyboard behavior, and focus management.
• Develop interfaces for asynchronous, LLM‑powered workflows, handling streaming results, retries, and long‑running operations.
• Maintain automated test coverage using Vitest, Testing Library, and Playwright, including end‑to‑end tests against third‑party applications.
• Instrument production systems to diagnose failures and write concise design documents or ADRs when decisions affect multiple components.

Required profile

• Senior‑level software engineer with strong product engineering experience.
• Proven ability to take features from concept to production in a fast‑moving, enterprise‑grade environment.
• Comfortable working across the full stack and collaborating with design, product, and infrastructure teams.
