Senior Software Engineer – Backend (Remote, USA)

About the role

Close is looking for a senior backend engineer to help build AI‑powered sales software. You will work on a fully remote team, designing and scaling backend services that power our CRM, agents, communications, and growth platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python Flask services, APIs, and asynchronous task pipelines using TaskTiger.
• Design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS (EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, etc.) with Terraform and Ansible.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ship AI‑driven features such as voice agents, AI search, and automated billing.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of services handling billions of records.

Required profile

• Seasoned engineer comfortable with Python and able to pick the right language (Go, Rust, TypeScript) for the problem.
• Experience shipping LLM‑backed features and understanding production‑ready AI constraints.
• Builder mindset: ship early, iterate quickly, and prioritize impact over perfection.
• Strong API design sense and battle‑tested debugging of latency‑critical systems.
