Senior Service Technician (Floating)

About the role

This full‑time position performs technical and mechanical work to ensure that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality. The role supports both resident service requests and preventative maintenance across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and making repairs in accordance with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Perform grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
• Inspect contractor and vendor work to verify quality, scope and compliance with specifications.

Required profile

• EPA Type 1 and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Valid driver’s license (required to operate a golf cart where applicable).
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays, and to respond to on‑call duties.
• Physical ability to lift 25 lb independently, 50 lb with assistance, and work in all weather conditions.

Required skills

• EPA refrigerant recycling certification (Type 1, Type II, Universal).
• State and local service‑technician certifications.
• Valid driver’s license and golf‑cart operation.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and risk‑management procedures.
