Senior Service Technician - Access Control & Video Systems

About the role

Allied Universal Technology Services is hiring a Commercial Security Senior Service Technician in Atlanta, GA. The technician travels to commercial client sites to service, repair and troubleshoot access control equipment and IP-based video security systems, and provides remote diagnostic support.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on access control equipment and IP-based video systems, including locks, card readers, door devices, IP and analog cameras, video recorders, wired and wireless systems and intercoms
• Troubleshoot installations and repair physical security systems so they comply with building codes
• Document all service-related issues
• Use hand and power tools, analog and digital test equipment and CCTV testing devices safely
• Read electrical schematics, CAD drawings and other documents for low-voltage applications
• Build working relationships with internal and external customers
• Provide phone and online remote diagnostic support
• Drive to client sites with a company-issued vehicle and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school degree, vocational school or equivalent
• 5+ years of field experience
• State-specific licensing (e.g. Class D or alarm installer) or ability to obtain it after hire
• Available for scheduled on-call emergency service calls
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders up to 16 feet high

Required skills

• Preferred: experience with software houses, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh or ONSSI
• Understanding of Windows and IT network topology
• Strong troubleshooting, mechanical and electronic aptitude
• Independent work and good verbal and written communication
