Armed Security Officer - CPO Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Armed CPO Patrol Security Officer in Atlanta, GA. The officer supports a government client by conducting routine patrols, keeping a visible presence to deter incidents, responding to security concerns and providing professional customer service to visitors and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government offices, surrounding grounds, parking areas and perimeter locations; working conditions vary by assignment.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms and critical situations, following escalation and reporting procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization and help deter unauthorized entry or suspicious activity.
• Maintain assigned equipment and keep accurate activity, incident and patrol records.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military or security experience, or a college degree.
• Certified Protection Officer (CPO) certification.
• At least 5 years of security-related experience.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred; applicants must be at least 21 for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
• Background investigation and drug screening as a condition of employment; licensing requirements depend on state and local law.

Required skills

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to use the company's shift tools to view and claim additional shifts.
