Senior Scientist – Advanced Clean & Etch

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Scientist to lead advanced cleaning and etching R&D activities for BASF’s Electronic Materials Business Unit in Hillsboro, Oregon. The role focuses on developing innovative chemical formulations that meet the demanding requirements of semiconductor manufacturing customers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive innovation by designing and developing chemical formulations for precise cleaning and etching.
• Plan, execute, and analyze experiments to evaluate performance of commercial and R&D samples.
• Collaborate with global product development teams and participate in customer projects and meetings.
• Communicate experimental results, trends, and insights to customers, internal partners, and management.
• Work closely with technical marketing to identify unmet needs and translate ideas into new product projects.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams including EH&S, engineering, procurement and logistics.
• Implement EH&S rules and ensure compliance with BASF safety guidelines.
• Maintain quality systems by documenting processes and adhering to SOPs for product development and analysis.
