Senior Safety Engineer - Power Tools and Accessories

About the role

The Senior Safety Engineer will ensure that new power tools and accessories meet the highest safety standards. Working in a hybrid model (three days onsite per week) at our Mount Prospect campus, you will analyze product designs, identify hazards, and define mitigation measures to protect end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze new product designs and prototypes for user hazards and assess risk.
• Develop and document hazard‑mitigation requirements in the Product Safety Review.
• Communicate safety requirements to product development teams.
• Provide safety input for user manuals, warning labels, and instructional materials.
• Mentor and train junior safety engineers and cross‑functional project teams.
• Create and maintain safety design guidelines and procedures.
• Support investigations of field returns and product incidents.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in product safety engineering, preferably for power tools or similar consumer products.
• Proven ability to conduct hazard analysis and risk assessment.
• Strong communication skills to convey safety requirements across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading safety‑focused projects.
