Purchasing Project Engineer (Mount Prospect)

About the role

The Purchasing Project Engineer will ensure cost‑effective, qualified, and on‑time delivery of components that meet the project design specifications. Working within the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, you will support new product development and manage multiple purchasing projects across diverse part families.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier selection for new parts in New Product Development, using competitive pricing analysis.
• Coordinate part approvals with design teams and suppliers, securing inspection and test reports that comply with Bosch procedures.
• Manage purchasing aspects of budgets and tooling expenses for multiple concurrent projects.
• Conduct technical supplier discussions on plastic, machined, die‑cast, electrical, electronics, and powder‑metal components.
• Collaborate with the global purchasing team to drive projects following Bosch purchasing processes.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing or procurement project management, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously and meet key milestones.
• Strong understanding of supplier qualification, cost analysis, and quality documentation.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional and global team interaction.
