Senior Research Technologist – Przybyl Lab

About the role

The Laboratory of Dr. Joanna Przybyl at Cleveland Clinic seeks a Senior Research Technologist to support translational cancer research focused on sarcoma. The role involves developing and applying high‑throughput multi‑omic methods and next‑generation sequencing library preparation to discover biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory operations, including space, equipment, personnel, and project management.
• Develop and execute protocols for library preparation, next‑generation sequencing, and functional studies of metabolic pathways in sarcoma models.
• Assist the principal investigator with experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain specimen databases, documentation, and compliance with protocol and safety standards.

Required profile

• High School diploma with six years of lab experience, or Associate/Bachelor/Master degree with corresponding experience as outlined.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and follow standard safety precautions.

Required skills

• Cancer cell culture and genetic manipulation techniques.
• Library construction for next‑generation sequencing and molecular biology methods.
• Experience with bioinformatics or quantitative data analysis.
• Wet‑lab maintenance, tissue culture, and handling of hazardous materials.
