Senior QA Engineer (Web)

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Web) to lead quality assurance for its web‑based social discovery products. The role is fully remote and involves collaborating with product, front‑end, back‑end and architecture teams across a global workforce. You will ensure that new features are released with high quality and minimal defects.

Key responsibilities

• Drive quality assurance of business features from technical hand‑off to successful production release.
• Review specifications, prepare test plans, and create comprehensive test cases and checklists.
• Provide realistic estimates for testing tasks and reliably meet committed deadlines.
• Conduct functional, exploratory, regression, UI/UX, cross‑browser, and end‑to‑end API testing across modern web browsers and responsive viewports.
• Contribute to web test automation and maintain test documentation.
• Validate builds, perform smoke/regression checks for releases, and monitor live errors and performance.
• Track and improve key QA metrics such as escaped defect rate and test coverage.

Required profile

• Strong grounding in QA methodology, test design, and the overall testing process.
• Good understanding of web technologies and client‑server architecture (HTTP/HTTPS, REST, DOM, cookies, cache, local storage).
• Experience with cross‑browser and responsive testing (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, mobile viewports).
• Comfortable using browser DevTools and debugging proxies (Proxyman, Charles, Fiddler).
• Fluent in English and Russian, detail‑oriented, and effective at problem‑solving and time management.
