Senior Psychologist – University Health Services

About the role

University Health Services at Texas A&M University provides integrated physical and mental health care for students. The Senior Psychologist delivers counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach to individuals, couples, and groups while supporting program development and training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and psychological assessments to students.
• Supervise and train early‑career clinicians, doctoral interns, and post‑doctoral fellows.
• Develop and deliver outreach programs, workshops, and seminars for the campus community.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to consult on student well‑being.
• Participate in departmental committees, continuous improvement initiatives, and professional presentations.

Required profile

• Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or related field accepted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
• At least five years of full‑time, independent licensure experience in a college counseling setting.
• Licensed Psychologist in Texas (or obtain licensure within one year of hire).
• Experience supervising or training early‑career clinicians and conducting psychological assessments.
