Human Research Protection Program Coordinator

About the role

The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Coordinator supports Texas A&M University’s commitment to ethical, responsible human subjects research. The role involves guiding investigators through IRB processes, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and protecting research participants.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of IRB review, including protocol preparation, pre‑review, and determination of exempt status.
• Provide expert advice to faculty, staff, and students on regulatory and institutional guidelines.
• Prepare meeting materials, agendas, minutes, and post‑review correspondence.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of research submissions and notices.
• Oversee quality‑assurance of data entry and support training material development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, biomedical, health‑related, or regulatory field.
• Three years of experience in compliance, auditing, legal work, research, or clinical trials.
• Preferred: Master’s degree and at least one year of human subjects research compliance experience.
• Professional certification such as Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HHS and FDA human subjects regulations.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret and present complex compliance data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Access.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
