Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the execution of medium to large automation and energy projects for customers, ensuring compliance with ABB policies, cybersecurity regulations, contractual agreements, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets, and schedules. This hybrid role is based in Houston, TX, within the Process Automation, Energy Industries division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project teams, define execution approaches, and manage hand‑over, planning, monitoring, and control activities.
• Develop and maintain project planning documents and ensure cost control, resource efficiency, and HSE compliance.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks while sharing lessons learned.
• Coordinate contract negotiations and claims with customers alongside other functions.
• Deliver project outcomes in line with contract requirements and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Provide performance feedback to project resources and support local management in team development and process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent experience; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 12+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably with an electrical background.
• Strong project management background and proven ability to work independently.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Authorized to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
