Senior Project Engineer

About the role

This isn’t your typical Project Engineer role. About 80% of your time will be hands‑on engineering and project delivery, with the other 20% focused on project management and client coordination. You’ll stay close to the technical work while using your experience to lead projects, mentor others, and build strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design, analysis, and project delivery from concept through completion.
• Prepare and oversee plans, specifications, calculations, reports, estimates, permits, and construction documents.
• Provide technical direction, engineering judgment, and QA/QC for project deliverables.
• Direct AutoCAD Civil 3D design and production efforts, including base mapping, utility research, conflict identification, and plan preparation for civil, water, utility, and natural gas pipeline projects.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and sign/seal documents as required.
• Lead and mentor project teams while coordinating with clients, consultants, agencies, utilities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, client coordination, and successful delivery.
• Assist with proposals, fee development, technical approaches, presentations, and business development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Current Arizona PE license required.
• 5–10+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills.
• Experience with civil infrastructure projects such as water, utilities, natural gas, municipal, drainage, or site development.
• Strong technical judgment, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to balance hands‑on engineering with project management, client service, and mentoring.
