Senior Principal Engineer

About the role

AlphaSense is looking for a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the architectural strategy for its 80+ engineer Application Portfolio, covering Web, Mobile, and Headless surfaces. This high‑impact individual contributor role will define the vision for technology transformation and ensure engineering choices accelerate product velocity and user value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for the entire Applications Portfolio, establishing frontend architecture standards for consistency, scalability, and performance.
• Mentor senior engineering talent, fostering a culture of technical excellence and proactive problem‑solving.
• Collaborate closely with Product leadership to align roadmaps with customer needs and product evolution.
• Facilitate cross‑team alignment on goals, outcomes, and timelines for complex, multi‑team projects.
• Lead the shift from a feature‑factory model to a platform‑driven system, modernizing API layers and integrating emerging standards such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Partner with Design Systems teams to evolve shared UI components and design tokens, ensuring seamless integration with architectural standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and scaling large‑scale Web, Mobile, and Headless applications.
• Proven track record of influencing technical strategy across multiple product teams.
• Strong mentorship skills with the ability to coach senior engineers.
• Customer‑obsessed mindset, aligning engineering decisions with product impact.
