Senior Network Engineer – Corporate WAN (Defense Logistics Agency)

About the role

TekSynap is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency’s enterprise WAN and corporate LAN. The role involves designing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco‑based network infrastructure across multiple DLA sites while ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop specifications and configurations for 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN and associated hardware/software, supporting a campus‑wide Cisco LAN with Gigabit switching and routing.
• Coordinate with vendor project managers, COTRs, and government user representatives to deliver accurate technical solutions and maintain user satisfaction.
• Provide real‑time monitoring of classified and unclassified DLA WAN, respond to automated alerts, perform initial triage, and execute corrective actions to ensure continuous operations.
• Manage configuration files, perform hardware/firmware refreshes, and apply patch‑management compliance across network devices.

Required profile

• Active Secret clearance with a High‑Risk, Critical Sensitive, Tier 5/SSBI investigation.
• Minimum five years of IT experience, including at least two projects in LAN/WAN network management and service‑desk support.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification and Cisco Certified Network Professional – Enterprise (CCNP‑E).
• Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA); CCSE preferred.

Required skills

• Cisco LAN/WAN design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Gigabit switching, routing, and network monitoring tools.
• Configuration management, patch management, and hardware/firmware refresh processes.
• Check Point security solutions (CCSA, CCSE) and related firewall administration.
• Optional cloud certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+.
