Senior Mechanical Engineer (ME‑II)

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer (ME‑II) independently applies advanced engineering principles to challenging design activities within OTECH. The role provides technical direction to technicians and collaborates across departments to support manufacturing, integration, and testing, with a focus on maritime and subsea systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent engineering analysis (structural, dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, machine design).
• Coordinate efforts of technicians, drafters, technical writers, and other engineers.
• Lead small‑scope projects and ensure customer requirements are translated into system solutions.
• Develop design approaches, write test procedures, conduct tests, and compile data.
• Prepare reports, present results to management and customers, and support bid proposals with cost estimates and technical definitions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in concept development, analysis, design, integration, and testing of complex mechanical or ocean‑deployed systems.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• Experience working with cross‑disciplinary teams (electrical, software, systems).
