Senior Manager, Order Fulfillment – U.S. Nursery

About the role

This senior leadership position oversees end‑to‑end order fulfillment and movement of all plant material within the U.S. Nursery system and across international borders. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on operational execution to ensure compliance, timeliness, quality, and continuous improvement of the logistics ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute movement of Driscoll’s plants domestically and internationally, ensuring regulatory compliance, cold‑chain integrity, and on‑time delivery.
• Manage daily carrier activities, nurture strong carrier relationships, and oversee transportation bidding, carrier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Partner with USDA, CDFA, and local county agents to interpret and apply phytosanitary regulations, mitigating compliance risks.
• Design and continuously improve an enterprise‑wide transportation strategy that balances cost, service, risk, and sustainability.
• Administer transportation budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and evaluate future logistics models.
• Develop carrier scorecards, governance models, and SOPs to drive performance and accountability.
• Evaluate and enhance fulfillment workflows, close process gaps, and lead improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Manage the Order Management System (OMS), Plant RAD, and PBS to ensure visibility and accuracy in order processing.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply‑chain management, preferably within an agricultural or nursery environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong understanding of domestic and international phytosanitary requirements for plant material.
• Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence, cost management, and continuous improvement.
