Senior Manager, External Manufacturing

About the role

The Senior Manager, External Manufacturing will lead cross‑functional, cross‑continental teams to oversee contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and ensure high performance across drug substance, API, finished dose, packaging, quality control, and supply chain activities. The role drives strategic supplier relationships, continuous improvement, and business continuity for Servier’s external manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage CMO relationships, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and operational review meetings.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to maintain continuity of supply, track lot releases, shipments, and component artwork delivery.
• Lead Virtual Plant Teams to meet supply requirements, resolve issues, and implement lean and standard work processes.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support business continuity planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with proven contract management and negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership of multi‑functional, cross‑continental teams and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with risk management, conflict resolution, and mentoring of team members.

Required skills

• cGMP compliance knowledge (FDA, EU, global regions).
• Process scale‑up, optimization, tech transfer, and analytical techniques.
• Lean practices, standard work, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Statements of work (SOW), purchase order creation, and invoicing processes.
