Senior Lead Software Engineer – DevOps for Equities Electronic Trading

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join the Markets Tech – Trading / Derivatives Execution team. You will work in an agile environment to enhance, build, and maintain high‑performance electronic equities trading systems, with a focus on FIX protocol connectivity and operational reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches.
• Provide daily production support for electronic trading platforms, ensuring FIX session health and order workflow stability.
• Monitor system health with Grafana dashboards, creating alerts for latency, errors, throughput, and availability.
• Lead incident triage, restoration, stakeholder communication, and post‑incident analysis.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, improve runbooks, tune alerts, and automate operational tasks.
• Write secure, high‑quality production code in Python and use C++ for issue investigation.
• Operate and support Kafka on AWS (Amazon MSK), handling topic design, consumer groups, latency tuning, and security.
• Drive adoption of AI‑assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, and test strategy acceleration.
