Senior IT Operations Engineer

About the role

Profluent is a frontier AI lab for biology that builds foundation models for molecules. The Senior IT Operations Engineer will design, deploy, and manage the company’s full IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and well‑documented services for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Google Workspace, including user accounts, groups, shared drives, security policies and DLP rules.
• Manage employee onboarding/offboarding and device provisioning through the Rippling platform and MDM policies.
• Deploy and maintain SentinelOne (or equivalent) endpoint protection, monitor alerts and coordinate remediation.
• Plan, deploy and optimize Meraki wireless, switching, VLAN segmentation and firewall rules.
• Implement and maintain key‑card physical access, VPN and MFA solutions for remote and lab environments.
• Administer Slack, GCP and Oracle Cloud environments, and manage Synology NAS storage and backup procedures.
• Prepare, image and support Mac and Windows workstations, manage WSUS patching and Office deployment.
• Set up and troubleshoot audio/video conferencing equipment in meeting spaces.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
• 8+ years of IT Operations experience, including 2–3 years in a high‑growth startup or solo‑IT environment.
• Proven experience transitioning from an external MSP or running a solo IT function.
• Hands‑on experience supporting SOC 2 Type 2 compliance and providing audit evidence.
