Senior IT & AI Systems Engineer

About the role

CloudZero is building a data and AI platform that powers every team in the company. As a senior engineer in the Office of the CTO, you will create governed pipelines, a unified warehouse, and AI‑ready environments that replace dozens of manual, ad‑hoc processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate ingestion pipelines from SaaS sources (Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Okta, Ravenna, UKG) into Snowflake with CDC, ELT and schema‑drift handling.
• Build and maintain the modeled warehouse: conformed dimensions, tested transformations, semantic layer and row/column‑level security tied to Okta groups.
• Provide cost visibility and attribution for each team, workload and AI agent.
• Develop AI landing zones across AWS, GCP, Azure and Snowflake, enabling safe self‑service deployment of agents.
• Own the core IT platform (Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Ravenna) and automate the employee lifecycle from HRIS.

Required profile

• 7+ years at the intersection of data engineering and infrastructure, with on‑call experience for both.
• Proven experience building and governing data pipelines in Snowflake or a comparable cloud warehouse.
• Hands‑on production experience with AI/LLM agents, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and tool‑calling.

Required skills

• Snowflake (RBAC, policies, cost model)
• Orchestration tools – Airflow, Dagster or Prefect
• Python (required), SQL (required), Go or Bash (plus)
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code – Pulumi, CDK, CloudFormation
• AWS (Bedrock, IAM, EventBridge, Lambda) plus working knowledge of GCP and Azure
• Identity and device management – Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Ravenna
