Senior High Risk Trader Onboarding Analyst

About the role

The Senior High Risk Trader Onboarding Analyst is an operational identity‑risk subject matter expert within Topstep’s Trust & Resilience team, responsible for evaluating complex identity risk profiles, handling high‑friction verification exceptions, and ensuring CIP compliance across global trader pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Advanced identity risk evaluation and exception analysis using multi‑signal IDV platforms.
• Binding risk discretion to grant, conditionally restrict or deny platform access for low‑to‑medium risk trader profiles.
• Specialized CIP and tax compliance governance, including validation of W‑8/W‑9 documentation.
• Secondary sanctions, PEP and OFAC screening assessment to differentiate false positives from genuine liabilities.
• Tier‑1 escalation and high‑risk handoff to senior analysts.
• Optimization of IDV platform logic and workflow based on performance data.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in fintech compliance, financial crime, identity risk management or digital onboarding.
• Hands‑on experience with modern IDV orchestration platforms (e.g., Persona, Jumio, Veriff, Onfido).
• Strong knowledge of CIP/KYC frameworks, OFAC sanctions screening and international tax documentation (W‑8, W‑9).
• Proven ability to exercise independent analytical judgment on ambiguous risk cases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for documenting investigations and collaborating across remote teams.
