Senior Health Information Management Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Health Information Management Coordinator processes medical records and documentation while ensuring accuracy and patient confidentiality. The role supports the HIM department by collaborating with providers, other departments, and patients, and works independently with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve, review, and process information and incoming requests daily.
• Communicate with staff, providers, and management to complete duties and resolve issues.
• Develop, compile, and distribute logs, reports, and statistics as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure compliance.
• Support HIM management and perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years of relevant experience (education may substitute for experience).
• Strong computer and data‑entry skills with dexterity for information retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software packages.
• Strong interpersonal skills and thorough understanding of medical record documentation.
