Senior Graphic Designer

About the role

We are looking for an exceptionally creative and strategic Senior Graphic Designer to join our onsite team. You will act as a creative partner and consultant to DARPA program managers, military leaders, academic researchers, and commercial partners, shaping visual communications that support cutting‑edge scientific and technological initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with diverse clients to translate complex concepts into clear visual messages.
• Guide the development of visual identities while preserving DARPA’s brand standards.
• Create graphics for print and digital media, including presentations, websites, social media, brochures, and large‑scale signage.
• Collaborate with web developers to ensure responsive, optimized graphics across devices.
• Mentor junior designers, providing feedback and direction.
• Ensure all digital outputs meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Manage projects from intake through final proofing, balancing rapid‑response and longer‑term campaigns.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Secret clearance (active clearance preferred).
• High school diploma/GED and at least 10 years of professional graphic design experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in layout, typography, branding, infographics, and responsive design.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign.
• Experience with responsive digital design.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards.
