Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s Foundry Research & Development team is looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to turn emerging technology concepts into production‑ready solutions. You will work closely with product, design and research partners to prototype, validate and scale new commerce experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop full‑stack applications and prototypes using React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Java, Spring Boot and Python.
• Design, build and maintain scalable front‑end interfaces, back‑end services and APIs for innovative product concepts.
• Lead technical initiatives from ideation through implementation, providing architectural guidance.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical designs and solution proposals for engineering and leadership stakeholders.
• Present prototypes and architectural recommendations to senior product and business leaders.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design reviews and best‑practice coaching.
• Research emerging technologies and assess their impact on payments and digital experiences.
• Participate in innovation programs, hackathons and proof‑of‑concept projects.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on software engineering experience delivering production‑grade applications.
• Strong front‑end expertise with React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Solid back‑end experience with Java, Spring Boot, Python and Node.js.
• Proven ability to design and build APIs, distributed systems and cloud‑native solutions.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
