Senior Full Stack Software Developer (Chicago)

About the role

Caxy Interactive is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to build new digital products for clients in Chicago. You will work on end‑to‑end projects, from concept to production, using modern open‑source technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver custom web and mobile applications following agile practices.
• Maintain and enhance existing client applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and usability.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and QA to gather requirements and produce high‑quality documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration processes.

Required profile

• Strong ability to translate ideas into clean, efficient code quickly.
• Passion for agile development, open‑source values, and continuous learning.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, pair‑programming environments.

Required skills

• Expertise in JavaScript, NodeJS, React (and optionally Angular).
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, responsive design, and front‑end build tools (Webpack, Gulp, Grunt, SASS/LESS).
• Strong knowledge of databases: MySQL, MSSQL, or NoSQL.
• Version control with Git or SVN.
• Familiarity with AWS services and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of AJAX, asynchronous request handling, and unit testing frameworks (Jasmine, Karma).
