Senior Finance Manager – Global Finance Policy & Training

About the role

Join the Corporate Controller organization at Applied Materials as a Senior Finance Manager. You will be a key member of the Global Finance Policy, Corporate Accounting & Training team, driving policy governance, technical accounting guidance, and finance‑training initiatives across a global semiconductor and materials‑engineering business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and govern global finance policies while providing US GAAP technical accounting guidance on complex transactions.
• Partner with external reporting, FP&A, tax, treasury, legal and regional finance teams to ensure consistent policy application and strong internal controls.
• Oversee global month‑end and quarter‑end close, lead balance‑sheet and income‑statement variance analysis, and improve close timelines and reporting quality.
• Design and deliver finance policy and accounting training programs, including live sessions, e‑learning and playbooks.
• Identify and lead process‑simplification, automation and ERP enhancement initiatives to support finance transformation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 6–10+ years of corporate accounting, technical accounting or Big‑4 experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX/internal controls and experience drafting technical accounting memos and policy documentation.
• Preferred: CPA, experience in a multinational semiconductor or manufacturing environment, exposure to SEC reporting, and SAP S/4HANA experience.
