Senior Field Technician - Cooling Service

About the role

Data Center Solutions (DCS) seeks an experienced Senior Field Technician to maintain mission‑critical cooling systems across North American data centers. This travel‑heavy, onsite position involves hands‑on work with portable and mobile chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, chilled water loops, pumps, and HVAC controls while mentoring junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, startup, testing, commissioning, and functional verification of cooling equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical failures on chillers, pumps, hydronic and BMS systems, and respond to emergency service calls.
• Document service activities, provide technical recommendations to customers, and support DCS service agreements.
• Mentor junior technicians, assist with training, and contribute to continuous improvement of service procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC, mechanical, or critical facilities field service experience, preferably in data centers.
• Hands‑on experience with chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, chilled water, pumps, and BMS controls.
• EPA Universal Certification (required) and OSHA 10/30 (preferred).
• Ability to travel up to 75%, lift 50 lb, and work in industrial environments.

Required skills

• Chiller and cooling system operation and maintenance.
• Pumps, hydronic, and chilled water system expertise.
• HVAC controls, Building Management Systems (BMS), airflow and containment management.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance programs, and technical documentation.
