Senior Estimator for Heavy Civil Projects

About the role

ACCIONA seeks a Senior Estimator to develop detailed conceptual and bid‑stage estimates for large‑scale infrastructure projects. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, project management, procurement and finance teams throughout the pre‑construction process.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Order of Magnitude budgets, cost work breakdown structures and detailed Bill of Quantities.
• Perform quantity take‑offs, develop direct and indirect cost estimates, and generate labour and equipment unit rates.
• Update construction budgets as designs progress and present budget reviews to management.
• Lead estimating working group meetings, coordinate with CJV partners and manage subcontractor packages.
• Analyze subcontractor quotes, prepare comparison sheets and ensure compliance with bid bonds and insurance requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience on large design‑build, P3 civil projects (roads, bridges, tunnels).
• Proven track record supporting bidding processes for highway and DOT projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, contracts and cost coding systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating and quantity take‑off software.
• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
• Experience calculating mathematical extensions and developing cost unit rates.
