Senior Electronic Design Engineer – Hypersonic Systems

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is expanding its Hypersonic Vehicle Systems team. We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to lead the development of control electronics for next‑generation hypersonic vehicles. The role is onsite in New York and requires collaboration with customers, business development, and cross‑functional engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the design and development of control electronics that form the core of our hypersonic system solutions.
• Influence new product requirements by consulting with customers, business development, and other engineering disciplines.
• Guide the evolution of concepts through detailed design phases, ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense standards.

Required profile

• BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred).
• 10+ years of electronic design and development experience.
• Strong hands‑on mindset with deep knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in motor‑control and power‑electronics design.
• Team‑oriented, self‑motivated, with excellent critical‑thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance and work onsite in Elma/Buffalo, NY.
• Preferred: aerospace industry background, familiarity with MIL‑STD‑461, MIL‑STD‑810, RTCA/DO‑254, RTCA/DO‑160, radiation‑hardened electronics, and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
