Senior Electrical Engineer – UUVs & Undersea Electronics

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced electrical and electronic systems for unmanned underwater vehicles, undersea sensors, and subsea mission platforms. The role combines high‑level architecture work with hands‑on detailed design and field validation in harsh marine environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical architectures for UUVs, AUVs, ROVs, and related payloads, including power distribution, battery interfaces, motor control, and data acquisition.
• Create schematics, PCB layouts, cable drawings, wiring diagrams, and comprehensive interface control documents.
• Select and qualify high‑reliability components such as connectors, penetrators, batteries, sensors, processors, power converters, and communication modules.
• Integrate electronics into pressure housings, wet‑mate interfaces, and vehicle hulls while addressing pressure, corrosion, thermal management, sealing, shock, and vibration.
• Develop and troubleshoot interfaces for sonar, acoustic modems, inertial navigation, depth sensors, Doppler velocity logs, cameras, thrusters, and mission computers.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, systems, autonomy, and test engineering teams to ensure reliable undersea platform performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in embedded, ruggedized, or mission‑critical electronics.
• Proven experience designing and integrating electrical systems for UUVs, AUVs, ROVs, subsea systems, marine robotics, defense, or aerospace platforms.
