Senior Director of Development

About the role

The Senior Director of Development reports to the CEO and is a key member of CURE Epilepsy’s senior leadership team. This role leads an integrated fundraising program, driving revenue growth and fostering a donor‑centered culture to support groundbreaking epilepsy research.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen an integrated development organization, aligning fundraising strategy with communications and scientific priorities.
• Develop and implement a multi‑year fundraising strategy, set annual goals, and monitor performance metrics.
• Manage a high‑capacity donor portfolio, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts.
• Expand annual giving, corporate, foundation, and planned‑giving programs to diversify revenue.
• Partner with the Board and senior leadership to enhance fundraising engagement and identify new opportunities.
• Oversee fundraising operations, analytics, and signature events to ensure effective performance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive fundraising leadership experience with a proven record of growing philanthropic revenue.
• Demonstrated ability to build and inspire high‑performing development teams and implement data‑informed decision‑making.
• Experience managing major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and fundraising events in a nonprofit environment.
• Strong ability to translate complex scientific research into compelling donor narratives.
