Senior Director, Manufacturing Excellence

About the role

Axon is seeking a senior leader to drive global manufacturing excellence. Reporting to the SVP of Global Manufacturing Operations, you will shape the contract manufacturing strategy, build scalable processes, and partner with internal and external teams to support rapid growth and product innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Own performance of global contract manufacturers across cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and responsiveness.
• Partner with Strategic Sourcing to develop and execute the global contract manufacturing strategy, including partner selection and footprint optimization.
• Establish and manage executive‑level relationships with key manufacturing partners and support contract negotiations.
• Implement governance, scorecards, and performance management systems to drive accountability.
• Define and roll out a standardized manufacturing excellence framework for internal and external operations.
• Champion digital manufacturing, automation, and data‑driven operations in collaboration with the Operations Business Accelerators team.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in global manufacturing or supply chain environments.
• Track record of scaling contract manufacturing networks and delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to influence both external partners and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills at the executive level.
