Senior Director, Finance

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a strategic and operational finance leader to serve as Senior Director, Finance, supporting high‑priority growth, innovation, and infrastructure investments across R&D, advanced technology, and customer partnership initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted finance advisor to senior leadership across US lab infrastructure organizations, influencing decisions through analysis and scenario modeling.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and governance for large‑scale capital investment programs, developing business cases, ROI frameworks, and investment prioritization.
• Provide financial support for strategic customer collaboration programs, structuring agreements and evaluating commercial opportunities.
• Drive finance process improvements using digital tools, advanced analytics, and AI‑enabled solutions to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing finance organization, building capability, succession pipelines, and a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in a global technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Extensive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, or investment analysis.
• Proven ability to support executive leadership and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
