Senior Director, Accounting – North America

About the role

The Senior Director, Accounting – North America will lead the accounting organization for a publicly‑traded produce company. Reporting to the VP Finance NA, this executive ensures accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC and SOX requirements across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly financial close for distribution centers and fresh‑cut facilities, ensuring proper inventory valuation.
• Review and approve capital asset requests, evaluating ROI/ROA for equipment and acquisition projects.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX and industry‑specific accounting standards.
• Lead accounting functions across geographies and legal entities, including inventory, cost, revenue recognition and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Partner with executive leadership, auditors, tax, treasury and investor relations to support growth and shareholder value.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, technology automation and M&A integration.

Required profile

• Extensive technical accounting expertise with strong business acumen.
• Leadership experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑geography environment.
• Deep understanding of inventory management, supply‑chain operations and commodity markets in the fresh‑produce sector.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
