Senior Data Scientist

About the role

The Senior Data Scientist will develop and implement digital science capabilities that accelerate product and technology development across laboratory automation, Forge, and RepairStack. This role bridges laboratory scientists, product developers, and digital technology teams to deliver data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize digital science opportunities that improve laboratory productivity, focusing on automation and related platforms.
• Develop, validate, and improve predictive, statistical, machine‑learning, and simulation models for formulation, process, and performance challenges.
• Define data requirements, acquire, clean, normalize, and structure sparse or unstructured laboratory data.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate technical challenges into scalable digital solutions and integrate models into workflows.
• Own pilot delivery from opportunity identification through implementation, adoption, and measurement of business impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in science, math, or engineering.
• At least five years of experience in data science, statistical modeling, machine learning, simulation, or related technical work.
• Ability to lead technical workstreams, influence multidisciplinary teams, and communicate complex results clearly.

Required skills

• Predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
• Machine learning and simulation techniques.
• Data engineering, including building data pipelines and preparing model‑ready datasets.
• Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps for model deployment.
• Design of experiments and handling of laboratory or R&D data.
