Senior Community Manager - Affordable Housing

About the role

Fairstead, a real estate firm that builds and manages affordable housing, is hiring a Senior Community Manager for one of its properties. The role covers day-to-day operations, on-site compliance and the overall performance of the assigned property.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with leasing laws (HUD, Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA) and the HUD 4350.3 Handbook, and respond to regulatory agencies with the Compliance Department
• Implement intervention strategies with Regional Managers and Compliance for non-compliant tenants
• Prepare site REAC reviews, EHS violations cleared, Management and Occupancy Reviews, Investor and LIHTC reviews, and annual and interim recertifications
• Assist tenants with requests, questions, problems and complaints, and monitor arrears and litigation
• Document lease violations, coordinate evictions, collect rent and late fees, process applications and pursue delinquencies
• Alert staff to move-ins, move-outs and emergencies, and supervise preventive and emergency maintenance and repairs
• Coordinate vendor bids and contractor quotes, conduct unit inspections and bi-annual walk-throughs with the Building Superintendent
• Report on construction projects and renovations, attend monthly budget meetings and monitor budgets

Required profile

• Three years of management experience, including supervising a team (property management, hospitality, retail or restaurant)
• COS or CPO certification
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• EIV experience; Yardi and TCS certifications preferred
• Experience in affordable housing
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Preferred: Yardi and TCS certifications
