Senior CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Alfa Laval in Newburyport. The role involves setting up, operating, and programming CNC machining centers and turning centers, training others, and improving machining processes and equipment.

• Set up, operate, and program CNC machining centers and turning centers without assistance.
• Participate in CNC programming and editing as needed.
• Manufacture parts to tight tolerances using blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret complex drawings and measure components with precision instruments.
• Monitor work in process, identify issues, take corrective action, and troubleshoot challenges.
• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual circumstances.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas following safety policies.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years experience in CNC machining centers and turning centers setup, operation, and programming.
• Proven experience setting up fixtures, calculating feed rates and cutting speeds.
• Experience with CNC programming and program editing.
• Ability to maintain established quality standards and follow procedures.
• Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Trak CNC controls (preferred).
• Experience with MasterCam (a plus) and manual machining (a plus).
• ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma and/or 5S experience (preferred).
• Willingness to work overtime, lift up to 50 lb, and follow safety measures.
