Senior Civil Inspector – Construction Quality Assurance

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Civil Inspector to lead quality assurance on complex construction projects in North Carolina. The role involves detailed inspections of soils, concrete, and steel work, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct testing such as soil compaction, moisture content, concrete slump, air entrainment, and compression.
• Perform surveillance of underground piping, verify tightness, bedding, grade, and conduct hydraulic pressure tests.
• Inspect reinforcing steel placement and validate piping systems with P&ID checks.
• Prepare quality assurance reports tracking manpower, equipment, and work performed.
• Document non‑conformances and assist in determining appropriate resolutions.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a technical or construction‑related field, or 10+ years of heavy‑construction experience (high school diploma with equivalent experience acceptable).
• Formal certification relevant to the inspection assignment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
• Experience with financial reconciliations and analysis of accounts receivable, unbilled aging reports, and reserves.
