Senior Analyst, Space Planning

About the role

The Senior Analyst, Space Planning is the key business partner and advisor to the Merchandising Organization on all space planning and analytics matters. Beyond planogram work, the analyst helps merchants analyze data to drive sales, optimize assortments, increase turns and maximize profit. The role partners with merchants, space analysts, store planning, visual merchandising and project managers on resets, MET projects and other activities requiring space analytics and planogram support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build planograms that incorporate merchandising strategy, visual merchandising and safety standards, and analyze them to optimize sales, profitability and inventory productivity (40%)
• Analyze merchandising factors such as space productivity, pricing, inventory turns, margin rates, promotions and product trends using systems and make recommendations (35%)
• Attend weekly cross-functional meetings and contribute space planning expertise to strategic merchandising plans (10%)
• Work with the merchant to identify assortment opportunities, help develop seasonal transition targets and strategies, and run product tests including inventory monitoring and in-store execution (10%)
• Help design and implement new processes for the department

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Experience in the retail industry
• Experience analyzing large amounts of data
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• 2 years of work experience preferred
• Ability to collaborate across functions, manage projects and communicate clearly

Required skills

• JDA Intactix space management suite (Space Planning, CKB, Planogram Generator, Space Automation)
• Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Stata)
