Senior AI Engineer - Core

About the role

Hilbert is building a reasoning engine that transforms months‑long decision cycles into minutes for Fortune 500 enterprises and leading consumer brands. The Senior AI Engineer will own core components of the demand‑intelligence platform, designing agent architectures, evaluation systems, and balancing accuracy, latency, and cost in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the evaluation layer for agents, including harnesses, metrics, golden datasets, regression gates, and human‑in‑the‑loop review.
• Architect agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent frameworks, handling state memory, routing, tool registries, and recovery paths.
• Take systems from experimentation to production, managing tracing, monitoring, latency, cost‑per‑task budgeting, and on‑call responsibilities.
• Diagnose production failures such as hallucinations, tool misuse, retrieval misses, and silent degradation, turning them into durable fixes and test cases.
• Set technical standards for agent work, review designs, define reusable patterns, and raise the engineering bar across the team.
• Collaborate closely with founders and cross‑functional partners, communicating trade‑offs, progress, and decisions clearly.
