Senior AI Engineer – AI Platform

About the role

At ClickUp we’re building the future of work with a converged AI workspace that unifies tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search. We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer – AI Platform to help define and deliver intelligent features powered by large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable AI platform services for deployment, orchestration, and lifecycle management of LLMs and other AI models.
• Apply LLMs directly to build and enhance ClickUp’s intelligent features, collaborating with product and engineering teams.
• Build and maintain robust APIs and backend systems that integrate AI‑powered features into the core platform.
• Develop infrastructure for model serving, monitoring, logging, and automated evaluation to ensure reliability and performance.
• Integrate with multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and manage model selection, routing, and fallback strategies.
• Drive best practices in AI privacy, security, and compliance, including data anonymization and regulatory adherence.
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency using cloud‑native technologies and distributed systems.
• Stay current with AI infrastructure, MLOps, and LLM advancements and incorporate innovations into the platform.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and building scalable AI/ML platforms in production.
• Proven track record applying LLMs to real‑world product features.
• Deep expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, and cloud‑native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience integrating and managing multiple LLMs and understanding their operational requirements.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript and familiarity with orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, Airflow, Kubeflow, Ray).
