Senior Agronomic Service Representative – Iowa (Field)

About the role

BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division is seeking a Senior Agronomic Service Representative to join its team in Central Iowa. The role blends sales acumen with deep agronomic expertise to drive adoption of the Xitavo soybean variety portfolio and associated trait technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Combine sales and technical agronomy to evaluate, manage, and promote the Xitavo portfolio across the assigned territory.
• Collaborate with commercial operations, breeding, trait development, supply chain, and marketing to develop and execute commercial strategies.
• Design and oversee a comprehensive field testing program to assess soybean varieties for commercial placement.
• Provide technical expertise on seed and trait products, ensuring compliance with stewardship and regulatory requirements.
• Lead regional forecasting, portfolio development, and agronomic support in partnership with the Area Manager and Agronomic Solutions Advisors.
• Conduct training for BASF agronomic advisors, business representatives, customers, and university personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agronomy, seed technology, and agricultural sales.
• Strong understanding of soybean varieties, trait packages, and field evaluation methods.
• Ability to work independently in the field and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
