Senior Accountant

About the role

Advisors is seeking a proactive, self‑motivated Senior Accountant to join the Regional Controllers Accounting team in Madison, NJ. Reporting to an Accounting Manager, you will help enhance operational efficiency while maintaining a strong control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate journal entry submissions compliant with internal policies and GAAP.
• Coordinate with departments to obtain support for timely journal entries.
• Review staff or peer monthly account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and analysis for key accounts.
• Lead financial close activities, including month‑end journal entries and accruals.
• Design and implement improvements to accounting methods, procedures, and records.
• Respond to ad‑hoc initiatives, analysis, and special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting.
• 3+ years of accounting experience; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
