SEN Teacher (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to cover a maternity leave for a 12‑month fixed‑term period, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role is based in Boston, East Midlands, and involves delivering inclusive lessons across a range of subjects while supporting students with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum objectives and adapt to the needs of SEN pupils.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback in line with school policies.
• Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and SEN specialists to enhance teaching practices.
• Participate in school meetings, events and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Demonstrable experience teaching students with special educational needs.
• Strong subject knowledge in Maths and Science is preferred, but candidates from other subjects are welcome.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Ability to create and adapt teaching materials for diverse learning abilities.
• Effective classroom management and lesson planning skills.
