About the role
The State of Delaware seeks Security Officers to protect state property, ensure safety, and support institutional operations at the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover.
Key responsibilities
- Enforce institutional policies related to safety, security, and orderliness.
- Conduct regular rounds of facilities, buildings, and grounds to maintain security.
- Prepare incident reports, maintain shift logs, and document other required reports.
- Assist in detaining trespassers, violators, and potential escapees until authorities arrive.
- Support searches for missing patients and provide directions to visitors.
- Inspect fire extinguishers monthly and may transport patients to external facilities.
Required profile
- Minimum six months experience in security or protective services.
- Ability to write narrative incident reports.
- Possession of a valid, non‑suspended driver’s license.
